Every now and then, a band comes along who represents the true underbelly of everything a genre represents. Every band has their variations and different style, but the root of death metal lays dormant in Thone of Hate, brining back to light the same brutality Cannibal Corpse had 10 years ago.

This shit is brutal. Not skinny nerd fucker holding up his horns brutal, but straight into the pit of hell brutal. Every miniscule aspect of Throne of Hate carry's a true death metal torch, the way metal should sound, feel and hurt. The low harsh growls, beatdown changeups, and no-tone bass flops set this band apart from the rest, yet proving to the world what true death metal should sound like. And we shouldn't let it die.

The band's only full CD, Parasites in the Garden of Christ, released in 2001, truly displays the talents of the trio. Guitars are very heavy and very fast, again, with that same death metal feel and crunch true death metal fans have grown accustomed to. What really catches the listener's attention are the break-offs and bridges. Not once has a build-up ever felt so good. In the studio, guitarist Todd Hobson doubles as bassist, but when they hit the stage, Hobson fills the high and low end with just his guitar, running two guitar heads, a bass head and six cabinets.

"The sound is so heavy we don't need a bass player," Hobson said. "The funny thing is all the shows we have played, not one person has asked where our bass player is."

The extra crunch comes from the use of EMG pickups, his 1.21 size pick and thick 13's for strings.

Songs like "Christ Molestation" and "Believe in Nothing" take your mindset to the middle a mosh pit ready to rip the face off the fucking fat guy who think's he owns it. Apart from the amazing and technical guitar work, vocalist Dan Sauro has a trained voice, able to produce long heavy sinister growls. A higher pitched, yet just as sinister, backup vocal from the guitarist follows during most intense musical lapses. You can’t discount drummer Dustin Silvia either. His quick footwork on the double bass truly keeps up with the fast pace the band has portrayed in their first CD.

Hailing from Rhode Island, Throne of Hate has made a name for themselves in the New Enlgand area. Forming in 2000, it took a few months to find a steady set of members willing and dedicated to the cause. Soon enough, though, they began their attack at Christianity. After their Parasites release in May 2001, they began their touring, but in late 2002, drummer Dustin Silvia was injured, rendering him unable to keep up with the fast pace the band plays at. Starting next year, they are re-entering the studio to record another CD, one described to have the same brutality but up the technical card.
